How I work
I work in a person-centred way, which means that our sessions are shaped around you — your experiences, what you’re going through, and what you want from counselling.
You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what you want to talk about, and there’s no set agenda that you have to follow. Sometimes you might know exactly what’s on your mind; other times, we might need to take a little time to work out where to start. We can go at a pace that feels right for you.
My role isn’t to tell you what to do or give you a list of things to fix. Instead, I’ll listen, ask questions when it feels helpful, and offer a different perspective when you need one. I’ll support you to explore what’s going on and develop a better understanding of yourself, so that you can find your own way forward.
A space to be yourself
I believe that feeling comfortable with your counsellor is really important. Counselling doesn’t have to be stiff or overly formal, and you don’t have to find the ‘perfect’ words to explain how you’re feeling.
There may be difficult conversations, moments where emotions come up, and things that are hard to put into words. But there can also be humour, honesty and moments of relief. You can bring all of that into our sessions.
My training includes both person-centred and psychodynamic approaches, but my practice is primarily person-centred. I work with people both in the shorter term, when there is something specific you would like support with, and longer term when you feel you need more time and space to explore things in greater depth.

Sessions
Sessions are 50 minutes and are usually held at the same day and time each week. My fee is £60 per session and I accept bank transfer.
I place a lot of importance on having this regular rhythm. Having a consistent space in your week that is just for you can make a real difference. It gives us the opportunity to build a relationship, get to know one another and gradually explore what has brought you to counselling, without feeling rushed.
We can talk together about what feels right in terms of how long we work together. There is no expectation that you need to commit to counselling indefinitely — equally, you don’t have to rush to finish if you feel there is more you would like to explore.
Where you'll find me
I work from my counselling office in Falkirk, which is located beside Callendar Park.
It’s a comfortable, private space where you can take some time away from the busyness of everyday life. There is also free parking available on site, making it easy to get to your appointment and take away one less thing to worry about.
If you’re thinking about starting counselling but aren’t quite sure whether it’s the right time, that’s okay. You’re welcome to get in touch and we can have a conversation about what you’re looking for and whether I might be the right counsellor for you.
